The thought of our college is that the academic activities should not be confined to only class-room teaching, rather they can be vividly extended through seminars and workshops. Seminars are integral to our academic programs. The seminars of our college serves as a means for the students to obtain a set of common experiences, usually based on a tropic. It ideally goes beyond the sharing of facts and probably the depths of the subject matter at hand. It is essentially a place where assigned readings are discussed, questions can be raised and debates can be conducted. They are organised every month either by the faculty or by invited eminent personalities.
A national seminar was organised in March, 2005. They are the pistons which drive the intellectual heart of the college.
A workshop is a single, short (although short may mean anything from 45 minutes to two full days) educational program designed to teach or introduce to participants practical skills, techniques, or ideas which they can then use in their work or their daily lives. Our workshops have several features in common:
They're generally within the college, allowing everyone some personal attention and the chance to be heard.
They're often designed for those who are working together, or working in the same field.
They're conducted by people who have real experience in the subject under discussion.
Co-leaders or co-facilitators are not only common, but can greatly expand the possibilities of a given workshop, and can make everyone's job easier. Each co-leader might be responsible for particular parts of the workshop, or all may work together throughout, depending upon the structure and purpose. Our workshops plays an important role in the betterment of performance of each individual.
